Easy as P.I.E.S. Basic Self Care Plan

A Simple, Self Care Plan Anyone Can Start Using Today...

With so many different ideas and strategies for 'taking care of you,
' designing a 'personal care' program may seem a bit... insurmountable.  There are innumerable ideas for various self care activities. In fact, there are so many choices,  that sometimes it can be hard to choose just one... the good news is, you don't have to.  With P.I.E.S. you can easily create a basic, personal self care plan, which you can customize and build on.

How To Create A Basic Self Care Plan Using P.I.E.S.

Day, Time, P.I.E.S.

The first thing  to do is choose a self care activity for each of your P.I.E.S. It is 'best' to choose an activity for each of your P.I.E.S (physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual), though you can choose to work on only those you truly want to work on, at any given time.

Next, you'll want to choose a day to actually practice each activity.  Obviously, you'll want to choose a day when you have the time you'd like to have or must have to complete the self care exercise you've chosen.  With 7 days in a week and only 4 P.I.E.S. to embrace, you have some wiggle room should the need to reschedule arise.

Finally, decide just how much time you'll spend on each of those activities on the days you've chosen to do them.  You don't have to spend the same amount of time on each activity, however, it is suggested that you spend at least 15 minutes on any of the P.I.E.S. you've chosen to work on.

Now that you have the three, basic components of making a self care plan, it's time to start implementing it, and making it a habit.  Using a calendar to schedule your self care plan is exceptionally helpful in making your plan into a self care routine. Also, keeping a self care journal, detailing what each activity and what it does for you and how it makes you feel, can really help you to feel good about doing it, so that you'll want to do even more.

A self care planner that serves as both a calendar and a journal can simplify your planning.  You can make your own using the free Google drive office programs, Documents and Sheets.  You can even use Drive's Presentation program, and, you can include links to videos or videos themselves in any of Drive's programs, to not only plan your activities and journal them, but even to note any kind of tutorials you want to use for any of them too.  Check out this post on "How To Use Google Drive To Create A Personal Self Care Planner."
